ArtJournal: How to add a face

Inspiration post at TIMI CraftStamper challenge blog, where the theme is 'Take A Stamp Anything Goes!' and this time I created a new ArtJournal page.
Faces are so popular lately on ArtJournal, so I decided to make a second try at drawing one (after this one). In the meantime I bought the Jane Davenport's book, so this is 'before' the book, I'll show you later what happened after..:-)
I started with a background where I cleaned the stencil
I drew a face on copy paper ( you can cut one from a magazine)
Ho disegnato un viso a parte e ritagliato
Cut it out, glued and gessoed
Incollato sulla pagina e gessato
Coloured it with PanPastels
Ri-colorato con i PanPastels
I re-drew the features with a charcoal pencil
I sprayed the fixative for the pastels
And addded the details with the Gelatos
Aggiunto altri dettagli con i Gelatos
I added some texture, with crackle' paste through several stencils
And half covered the face since I didn't like it (it happens)
Last touch, I stamped and wrote the quote with archival ink and pens.

This page is full of interest and the way you created all those beautiful layers which are especially beautiful on the face of the woman.

Buona settimana, Gio!

Oh Gio, what a BEAUTIFUL page....Your lady is fabulous!!!... Your drawing and writing skills are wonderful now (or maybe it has always been ?..), I envy you!
And I LOVE your idea of using your mask to hide partly the face like a veil.. Fantastic work and thank you for the tute!
Big hugs :)

So magical how she emerges out of the background, and then I love that you've given her that mysterious mask. It may have happened because you weren't in love with her, but it's given a whole new magic to the page!
