Tutorial:DIY Canvas Laptop Case

Hello to everyone! Today, for the "Anything Goes' theme on the TIMI CraftStamper challenge blog, I show you how to make a laptop case from scratch, using stencils and stamps.
Questo mese, per il tema "Anything Goes' sul TIMI CraftStamper challenge blog vi mostrerò come creare un porta laptop da zero, con stencils, colori acrilici e timbri.

With a leftover I create a luggage tag:

I used the same technique of this video 'How to use Stencil on fabric and canvas": I used a large piece of canvas, and closed it along one side, but you can use two pieces of canvas.
Gesso the canvas (or, like me, I used a cream chalky paint)
Ho usato la stessa tecnica del video 'Come usare gli stencils sulla stoffa": ho usato un avanzo di canvas cucendolo poi su un lato.

Lay the stencils

Posizionare gli stencils

And spray spray spray with acrylic paint (a bit of paint and water mixed in a spray bottle).

Spruzzare come se non ci fosse domani (io ho usato colori acrilici in una bottiglietta spray con acqua)

And, when dry, sponge through the stencils with acrylic paints

Tamponare il colore acrilico puro attaverso lo stencil

Lay the batting ( I just put it on one side)

Posizionare l'imbottitura

And sew the lining

E cucire la fodera interna

Stamp stamp stamp with your favourite stamps using black archival ink or acrylic paint.

Stampare furiosamente con acrilico o tampone permanente.

Add some doodle with black markers.

Aggiungere dei doodles o cornicette.

Sew along the sides (or one side, like me)

Chiudere cucendo lungo il bordo.

Reminder post for TIMI CraftStamper magazine challenge blog where the theme is "Stamp and Masks" (and of course stamps). It's been a while since I made every background on my ArtJournals just cleaning the stencils from ink or paint and then starting from there. Today I show you how to make stamps from...an hot-water bottle! I confess, I suffer of cold feet, and I can't sleep without my beloved hot-water bottle, let's say I use it 9 months per year, and I live in the South of Italy! But tragedy is just around the corner: when you found out the bed is totally wet...and there's a hole in the bag. What we do then, throw away that lovely textured rubber? No no. We create some background stamps, of course!

Ed il nuovo tema sul challenge blog di TIMI CraftStamper magazine è 'Maschere e Stencil" (e timbri, naturalmente). Ormai è da anni che preparo gli sfondi sul mio ArtJournal pulendo gli stencils usati per altri progetti dagli spray o dagli acrilici, insomma mai più blocco da pagina bianca. Oggi vi mostrerò come si possono creare dei timbri da una...borsa dell'acqua calda! Soffro di cattiva circolazione (fare sport non è proprio la mia attività preferita, diciamo) e quindi 9 mesi all'anno dormo con la borsa dell'acqua calda. Ma può capitare che ti svegli durante la notte e il letto è tutto bagnato: la borsa si è irrimediabilmente bucata, ma che fai mica la butti, con quella bellissima gomma di cui è fatta. No , si ricicla per fare dei timbri.

Allora si taglia la parte piana (io avevo due texture diverse sui due lati):

Si tagliano delle formine semplici come cuori, rombi e cerchi

Cut out simple shapes

Si monta se si vuole su del polistirolo

Mount them on polystyrene with a good glue

Si timbra con i colori acrilici o tamponi

TIP: La gomma si può anche tagliare con la Cuttlebug o Big-Shot

The dark side of Stamps and Stencil

And the new theme on TIMI CraftStamper magazine challenge blog is..."Stamp and Masks" (and of course stamps)! Easy peasy, I think I use stamps and stencils in every single altered art, cards or ArtJournal page. And the sponsor of this month is...surprise, you can read at the bottom :-)
I created two cards that match an altered cherry crate I made a while ago. This post and the next one show perfectly there are two creative side of me, the simple and almost geometrical style and the bright, colourful and messy one. I wonder if I am a sort of schizo-art kind of type.

Ho creato due card, molto nere e geometriche abbinate ad un vassoio alterato che conteneva ciliege. Questo post, tutto scuro e ordinato mi fa pensare al mio stile, talvolta molto pulito e semplice altre il più incasinato e alternativo possibile. Sarò un pò schizofrenica? Doppia personalità? Mah...

For the tray I used the Decoart Metallic Lustre with stencil and a palette knife, to have texture. For the card I use the same metallic paste but with a sponge, so I get a one layer card. This product is marvellous, and so shining!

Per il vassoio ho usato le paste della Decoart Metallic Lustre con gli stencils e una palettina per dare rilievo, invece sulle card ho usato lo stesso prodotto su una spugnetta, cosi l'effetto è piatto ma iridiscente.

Funky Matchboxes and Mini stamps

For the current theme on TIMI CraftStamper magazine blog 'Anything goes!' I created a bunch of funny and funky matchboxes. The mini stamps I used are the ones attached every month to the magazine. Since it is 4, maybe 5 years that I read this magazine I have quite lots of them!

E per il reminder post su TIMI, dove il tema di questo mese è 'Anything goes!' ho preparato delle coloratissime scatoline di fiammiferi usando i mini timbri che ogni mese sono in allegato alla rivista. E siccome la leggo da tantissimi anni, ammetto di averne un bel pò!
