Alice in Wonderland and Giulietta Midori
A lovely previous owner of one of my Midori asked for another one to give to her daugter: she requested a Midori inspired by one of my ArtJourmal's (or book journal) page from two years ago and since I was there why not make a second one Alice themed? Well, she got both of them! I was super happy, of course :-)
And you, which one do you prefer? Giulietta or Alice?
To make the Midori and notebook cover I made some gel prints and laser cut a couple of Alice silhouettes (or you can use my 'Alice in Giogioland 'stencil set) out of them.
The Giulietta one:

VideoTutorial: DIY Metallic Textured Midori
I have this small piece of leather hanging in my craftroom for ages when I saw a super inspiring book cover on Instagram and I've decided to make a Midori out of it with a metallic texture. My idea was to shot 1 minute video but then I thought: what if I try a different product than my usual super-favourite DecoArt Metallic Lustre? So, in this video I show you how to get a similar/different metallic effect on texture with three products. Enjoy!
This cover is made with Metallic Lustre
This one is made with Perfect Pearl
And this one is made with DecoArt Extreme Sheen
Do you have a favourite one?

New Mandala Stencil: Romantic junk book
You know that beside my love for bright colours I have a soft spot for everything vintage, shabby and ok, also Steampunk :-). This time I created from scratch a junk book simple and very romantic: I used my Mandala stencil 'Taormina' along with an embossing pen.
Inside a bunch of gel printed book pages (gel printed tissue paper adhered to the book page)

Handmade Leather Midori with DecoArt Texture Metallic Paint
In my latest video '10 Ways to use 1 Stencil' I showed how to use the new DecoArt Americana Metallic Texture on paper, this product is so fabulous that I decided to try on leather. Wow, I got such a perfect result! I made a Midori journal with matching notebook and I sold it straight away!
On the inside I sponged the texture paste, such a coverage:

From Cereal box to PouringArt Midori : Pour-Dori
Well....after many frozen pizzas and lot of acrylic pouring (here my frst post how to upcycle cereal box with PouringArt, with video tutorial) and finding out that you can get a marvellous surface with pouring acrylics on cardboard and putting DecoArt TopCoat on top (a shine finish medium) I had to make some Midori with it, couldn't help!
Of course I gave them names: 'Red Heart'
I listed these in my Etsy Shop
Potete trovare queste Midori nel mio shop Etsy

Midori 'Blue Waves'
Midori 'Pretty in Pink'
The pattern and colors you get with this technique is stunning!
