Upcycled Fabric Leftovers Necklace

When you start coiling fabric..you can't stop! So I tried something little (quick to make but it requires a bit of patience), to make some jewels. I started with a statement necklace, very bold to wear. I have some coiled discs left maybe I will try something sober and and some earrings, my mind is buzzin' with ideas :-)
Here's a short/tease video about it:

If you like to learn and master this technique here's an ebook I wrote, available in my Etsy shop:

Loooove slow stitching! Stitched Hearts

How much I love slow stitching? A lot! But I 'm running out of ideas what to stitch lately. I started to put together these simple stitched hearts before Christmas and well, it took a while to finish and I love how these turned out.
From a gel print with one of my stencil (my favourite one, oh those black micro beads):
And finally I used those rusted fabric:

And here some short video process (are you hooked ;-)?):

Tiny Colourful, Coiled Basket

Welcome everyone! Today a small post with my latest obsession, two coiled baskets, very tiny and inspired by a gorgeous large basket made a while ago ( in the 80'? Maybe even before) by my grandmother. I am hanging all these baskets in my kitchen wall, these will make a nice addition :-)
Here's a short video process:

Upcycled Coiled Basket Galore

After a long Summer of 'hard' working, here we are with at least one post dedicated to my latest obsession: coiling basket, made mainly of upcycled materials, such plastic bags, old bed linens and lots of fabric strips (I started with leftovers and then I finally started putting a dent on my large collection of any kind of fabric I had in my stash for years). Yesterday I just finished my first ever coiled vessel. Why on earth I thought it would be simpler and quicker than the flat large ones... :-D:

Here's a quick recap of the process:

And then a squared very large basket (40 cm) made with a sort of pattern and limited palette:

And the very first baskets made in July, how wonky is the small basket? But it is ok...

Slow Stitched Fabric Journal

My latest stitched project (lately I stopped a bit, too hot even in the evening) a mini fabric journal where I stitched some tiny stitched embellishments with a cover made out of cheese cloth: I was fascinated by the organic stitching by Mirjan Gielen, so I bought one of her tutorial and tried it. I loooove it!
