This week at CraftBarn we're having lots of fun using mists and stencil (I admit is one of my fave techniques at the moment). I created two sleeve protectors from scratch, in a coupleof hours, it' s a very simple project and you can do it even if sewing is not your cup of tea!
Here you can find the full step by step.
Step by step:
I cut 2 rectangles from plain cotton 32X40 cm. I put the masks on the fabric and I started to spray Cosmic Mister Candy Pink, Lava Red, Mango Blush, Mango Blaze. I stamped the fabric using an Andy Skinner stamp with: Antiques and Red Crimson and Plum Archival ink.
Tip 2: Use your art journal or 30X30 paper to "clean" the stencils, no more white page to start with and no waste at all!

I folded and sewed the right sides together. I folded one end about 2,5 cm and sewed it, leaving a 3 cm opening for the elastic. Using a large safety pin, I pulled through about 7" of elastic.
I sewed the ends of elastic together, I trimmed and topstitched to close the opening.
This makes the "wrist" end of the sleeve protector.
I coloured two pieces of lace with Cosmic Mister Pink.
I just sewed them on the other end very close to the raw edges.
Tip1: for the upper end it's better to use a piece of elastic lace and sew using an elastic thread.
