Back to work, and still in a joyful mood (despite the glomy weather) I was so lucky lately I won the giveway on the Coco's blog; when the large parcel arrived, it was like Christmas in advance. After several weeks of low mojo, that unexpected gift clicked something in me, so I ran to the freezing craft room and in one afternoon I altered ( my truly passion) a paper fan and a little notebook, that were among the goodies. Nothing complicated, and I was curious to try the new Decoart Media Misters. I love their vibrant colours, and they are permanent, when dry these don't react with water anymore.
Tornando ai miei lavoretti, qualche settimana fa ho ricevuto un mega pacco dalla Francia, avevo vinto un giveaway dalla dolcissima Coco. Era come se fosse Natale! Sono corsa alla craftroom, freddissima e abbandonata da un pò, ed in un pomeriggio ho alterato un ventaglio di carta ed una agendina, niente di complicato, volevo solo divertirmi un pò e provare i nuovi acrilici a spruzzo della Decoart. Bei colori, e diventano permanenti, una bella novità:

Qualche tempo fa ho acquistato una busta piena di piumette colorate ad un prezzo irrisorio, è arrivato il loro momento, perchè questa settimana su CraftBarn alteriamo una mascherina zorro style, per Carnevale sono già pronta!

My craftroom, zero budget, part 2

Here we are, please don't be disappointed, as I said before no colours on the walls ( yet no decided which ones, and too tired to climb again on a ladder after all the re-decoration of the house), no fancy stuff, no proper furniture. There's no even Ikea on the island, and it's too expensive to have their stuff delivered here. Still curious?
Eccoci qui, non rimanete deluse però, eh? Niente pareti colorate ( dopo aver imbiancato tutta casa ti passa proprio la fantasia), mobili rimediati, e se ve lo state chiedendo, non c'è l'Ikea in Sardegna, e per adesso costa troppo il trasporto sull'isola. Pronte?

My favourite upcycling project, an old door that was lying in the garden maybe for years, I painted in gold the border and glue to it some book pages, then I added the little shelves cut to size.

You can do all this kind of upcycling by yourself, my only advice is to buy a mini electric screwdriver, a must have!

Il mio progetto di riciclo preferito, una vecchia porta bianca che stava abbandonata in giardino, ho dipinto il bordo con acrilico oro e incollato delle pagine di libro. Tagliato su misura gli scaffali e montati con viti. Il mio più grande consiglio, comprare un mini avvita-svita elettrico, ti cambia la vita!

And the giant pallet, a display for my 3d pieces, I painted it with acrilic inks and attached the shelves cut to size, again the electric screwdriver was indispensable.
Ed il pallet gigantesco ( e pesantissimo) dopo averlo dipinto e tagliato e montato gli scaffali è diventato un espositore per i miei lavori:

Beside the desk. the sink! It looks like new, but it was a wrecked one, again, my father re-build the closet underneath. Above, a plastic holder that I remember when I was a child was in my grandmother's sewing room. I used a red acrilic spray to revamp it.
E vicino alla scrivania, il lavandino! Sembra nuovo ma in realtà il mobile sotto era distrutto, quindi mio padre ha dovuto rifarlo. Il portatutto di plastica era a casa di mia nonna quando ero piccola, l'ho rinnovato con una bomboletta spray e ritagli di stoffa.

 My LOs, I just started to fill this wall, I'd like to cover all the wall with them.
Ed infine la parete con i LO, ancora da riempire o colorare, chissa'.

Hope you enjoyed this little tour, and yes, especially this Summer, it was very hard to stay away from it, if I'd have a bed in it I would have even slept! :-)
Spero vi  sia piaciuta la mia stanza creativa, un pò rimediata, non proprio quella dei sogni, ma ci si avvicina molto! Si, se avessi potuto questa estate c'avrei pure dormito dentro!

My craftroom, zero budget, part1

When a dream comes true, you can't complain, but you know, Internet is full of wonderful craftroom, with gorgeous furniture, colours everywhere and flooding with light. I bought an old house, it required lot of effort and money so, a craftroom was the least and less important thing to do it. 
So, I am really proud of what I accomplished, everything is upcycled, borrowed (stolen?? ;-)) from my relatives, aunt, parents, grandmother; everyone has contributed to refurbish this little corner at the end of a garden. In the future, with no hurry, with hard work and patience, maybe my craftroom will be fancy, stunning and full of gorgeous stuff, for now...
Bear with me about the number of pictures, next post I reveal how it turns out.
Avere una craftroom, dopo anni ad una piccola scrivania e due scaffali, è sicuramente un grande sogno. Certo inutile fare comparazioni con le bellissime craftroom americane che puoi vedere su internet, colorate, personalizzate e piene di luce. Tu hai appena comprato casa e hai zero soldi, e quindi, tanto lavoro, riciclo creativo a gogo, e "prestiti" qua e la, una sedia, una scrivania, uno scaffale. Tutti hanno contributo, zie, famiglia, nonne...per arredare un piccolo studio in una cameretta in fondo ad un giardino.
Mi perdonerete il numero delle foto, prossimo post il resto.

The sink was the turning point on the decision to transform this awful room in my studio, no more travelling to the bathroom to clean wash etc.
Il lavandino è stata la chiave di volta, mai più pellegrinaggi al bagno per pulire stencils e pennelli:

Texture of Christmas/Un LO a tutto tondo

..is this week's theme at CraftBarn, and I scrapbooked a picture made a couple of years ago, with my little cousin Charlotte, it was Christmas, but with 30° outside, a quite unusual Christmas downunder!
I upcycled a round corrugated cardstock from a package of a new lamp I got for the kitchen.

Fornasetti inspired canvas

It takes just 4 years to complete my largest canvas ever, I think my last one, too :-)
It all started on July, 2010 (!!) when I asked a friend of mine to help me stretch a very large canvas to paint and hang above my headbed:
Appena 4 anni fa decisi di fare una grande tela da mettere sopra il letto, quindi chiesi ad una mia amica di aiutarmi a montarla, abbastanza facile con una sega, il canvas, una sparachiodini e  una dima.

Pretty scared about all that white, I started to clean my paintbrushes on it
Panico da tela bianca, credo di averci pulito i pennelli o le mani

Two months later, don't really know what to do with it, flowers, abstract?
Due mesi dopo ancora non sapevo che farci, e naturalmente il risultato molto sotto le aspettative

One year later, I decided to cut it in half (it was sooooo darn big, no hope to finish any sooner), so I borrowed the miter box and stretched two canvases, and went with a heart (always a nice choose).
Where's the other half....no clue, I moved twice since then and I lost it or get rid of it, during the moves.
Nel frattempo è passato un anno, e probabilmente durante l'estate, in un raptus, decido di tagliarla in due, ammetto la sconfitta, impossibile fare una tela così grande con la mia scarsa pazienza e abilità. Quindi mi faccio prestare gli attrezzi e imparo ad assemblare le tele. Una delle due si è purtroppo persa durante i vari traslochi ( non credo una grossa perdita...)

 Today...During three years I glued down some laces and a furrow lady :-)
Passano gli anni, due centrini attaccati sopra chissà quando e finalmente decido di finirla, neanche il gatto è tanto d'accordo ma alla fine capitolerà

Vintage matchboxes

Stocking fillers under 5£ is this week's theme at CraftBarn, so it was the right excuse to make some little treasures that I always admired on a blog of a talented girl from Poland. She is Maj, and I love every little, vintage stuff that she make.
I tried to re-create the mini matchboxes and mini mini books inside, and since I started from scratch, I have to tell you, not an easy task...Hope you like them:
Piccoli doni sotto le 5 £ è il tema di questa settimana su CraftBarn. Ne ho approfittato per creare delle mini scatoline vintage ispirate dalla bravissima Maj, che seguo da tanto tempo. All'interno un mini mini libro. Avendo tutto costruito da zero, ammetto di di averci messo un pò di tempo, ma ne è valsa la pena!
