Gothic mini-birdhouse

Last year I got three super cute mini wooden bird houses and I altered two (if you don't remember  I altered them for the first giveaway post about my just relesead stencils); by chance I found out the third one and I wanted to alter it in a different way, a little bit gothic, this time:
L'anno scorso avevo trovato un set di 3 carinissime casettine da uccelli, due le avevo alterate in occasione del lancio dei miei stencils, una era rimasta fuori. Ritrovata per caso, ho deciso di darle una mini aria gotica:

Io la trovo deliziosa! 

It is super cute!

And these are the main steps to give it the dreadful look

Alcuni passaggi per trasformarla in una creatura dark

1-Glue some metallic charms on the birdhouse roof with embossing paste or heavy gel medium

1-Ho incollato degli charms sul tetto con la pasta struttura

2-Glue some lace on the little opening and along the border
2- Ho incollato sulla porticina e sul bordo del pizzo 

3-Glue the mini image from the glossy CraftyIndividuals A4 sheet 'Domino'
3- Ho incollato l'immagine dal foglio della CraftyIndividuals A4 sheet 'Domino'

4-When everything is perfectly dry paint with black acrylic paint
4-Quando perfettamente asciutto, ricoprire con acrilico nero

5-Highlight the texture with metallic acrylic paints.
5- Evidenziare la texture con colori acrilici metallizzati
Stamp on 2 little strips of book pages the sentiment from the CI-256 rubber stamp plate and glue them to the side of the birdhouse. Add embellishments.
Stampare il sentimento su delle striscioline di libro ed incollarle alla casetta insieme a degli abbellimenti.

IndigoBlu challenge: Precious Metal, AJ page

Here we are, my first entry for the the IndigoBlu challenge blog, and since it was a while since I made an AJ page I went for  it, inspired by a magazine blu image and the theme, 'Precious Metal'. IndigoBlu, beside the beautiful stamps has got the famous Mega Flake that come with the magical GlitterFlu (the proper glue for the metal leaf). So I use plenty of it, and the page really shines!
Ed eccoci qui, con il mio primo contributo per il l'IndigoBlu challenge blog. Era da un pò che non mi dedicavo all'AJ, così ispirata da un'immagine di una rivista, e dal tema, 'Metalli preziosi', ho deciso di fare una nuova pagina. IndigoBlu è famosa non solo per i timbri ma anche per le foglie oro, Mega Flake, e una missione per farle aderire in poco tempo. Quindi la pagina sembra venuta dallo spazio, tutta metallica!

To make the background I just sprayed some mists, different brands, so they mixed in unexpected ways
Per farla ho spruzzato diversi colori spray, tutte tinte fredde

I traced out with a pencil the image to know where to put the golden leaf
Con una matita ho tracciato il contorno, per sapere dove mettere la missione

I brushed the glue and then I applyed the Mega Flitter. When happy, I brushed the excess with a soft paintbrush.
Dopo aver messo la missione ho aderito la foglia, e per eliminare l'eccesso ho usato un pennellino morbido

I stamped on lightly gessoed book pages some feathers from the Indigoblu plate Plume by Limor Webber
Ho stampato su delle pagine di libro delle piume dal set di timbri Plume della Limor Webber

I cut out the feathers and I glued them to the page along with the magazine image. I stamped randomly with the same stamps.

Ho ritagliato ed incollato le piume alla pagina, insieme all'immagine. Ho stampato qua e la delle piume.

Newsletter and upcycling: a vintage drawer

Eventually my latest newsletter is out! I apologize for missing the June issue, but didn't have time to deliver a proper tutorial, so I prefer to wait and make something nice.
The free e-book is about upcycling, what else, my truly passion, and to have a try you need to eat lot of Italian pasta, my favourite one, and one that you can find all around the world. The commercial in Italy says 'Where Barilla is, there is home', and I agree with it because my mum used to cook it, so it really reminds me of home, even now that I live so far.
E finalmente è uscita la mia ultima newsletter, mi dispiace non aver potuto pubblicarla in Giugno, ma non ho avuto il tempo di fare un tutorial decente. Questo mese ricicliamo le scatole della pasta Barilla, la mia preferita, quella che mi ricorda casa, sempre, ovunque nel mondo.

Hand made colourful notebook

It's inspiration post at TIMI, the CraftStamper challenge blog, and this is my offer,  two notebook made from scratch. Any stamped creation is good to enter the challenge and have the chance to win 4 fabulous stamps, just following the few rules.
Ed oggi è il giorno dell' Inspiration Post sul challenge blog di CraftStamper magazine, per partecipare basta una qualsiasi creazione stampata, e si possono vincere 4 timbri questo mese. Io ho creato due notebook, da vari avanzi:

 

Make these two guys is very simple, I used as cover the watercolour leftover papers from making the lettering video ( it was very fun and quick to make these paper, I have tons of them):
La copertina arriva dal video del lettering ( ancora smaltisco gli esperimenti), le pagine interne da un vecchio quaderno (si ricicla tutto)

Stamp the cover, fold it in half, as long as the inner pages
Stampato la copertina, e piegata in due

Bind all together using a large needle and a ribbon
Fatta la rilegatura con un nastrino e l'ago.

For the second one, I stamped the main images on book pages and I glued them to the cover, because the background was too dark. 
Per il secondo ho stampato le immagini su delle pagine di libro e incollate, così da risaltare di più.

New CraftyIndividuals Challenge: Face Value

The lovely and uber-talented Flo has chosen the new theme at the CraftyIndividuals blog, that it is "Face Value". A good excuse to use the stamps I designed for CI, the Frida Dreaming CI-418:
Nuovo challenge sul blog della CraftyIndividuals dove il tema, scelto dalla bravissima Flo, è 'Il valore di un viso'. Ne ho approfittato per usare i timbri disegnati da me per la CraftyIndividuals, Frida Dreaming CI-418:

For the first time I decided to add a body to this pretty face, and I really liked how it turned out. I even found out that the neck was too long! (you can see the double lines of the left shoulder)
Per la prima volta ho deciso di disegnare un corpo da aggiungere al timbro, mi piace molto il risultato, e così mi sono accorta che il collo era troppo lungo (si vede la doppia linea della spalla)

I added dozens of colourful feathers (found for 1£ last year in UK) and real lace for the long sleeves
Ho aggiunto decine di piccole piume colorate per la gonna e pizzo per creare i guanti:

Since it was so rich I decided to keep the background simple, it's the linen canvas from Pebeo.
Vista la ricchezza del vestito, ho lasciato lo sfondo pulito, un canvas di lino della Pebeo

The butterflies are from the 'Butterflie pairs' CI-417

And a tag, both backgrounds are made from leftovers from another project ( do you remember the video about lettering?)

And this is a small panel, very quick to make, where I used the "Baroque splatter script" CI-430, and the new paperpad 'Weekend in Seville", also from CraftyIndividuals.

Ed un piccolo pannello, molto facile da fare, un solo timbro per fare lo sfondo, il "Baroque splatter script" CI-430 ed il profilo disegnato direttamente dal mio stencil Profile per Tando Creative:

For the mini panel I used my Tando Creative Profile stencil, simply tracing and cutting out the shape, here the Pinterest board where you can find gorgeous ideas using my designs.

Quintessentially Fabric Hearts

New month, new challenge at the CraftStamper magazine challenge blog, and like every other month any stamped creation can enter the challenge! Please just follow the rules and you are entitled to win 4 gorgeous stamps from ArtJourney.

Nuovo mese, nuova sfida sul challenge blog di CraftStamper magazine, e come un mese si ed uno no basta qualsiasi creazione timbrata per partecipare ed avere la possibilità di vincere i timbri offerti dallo sponsor. Io ho creato due cuori di stoffa, super timbrati naturalmente:

I made two fabric hearts:

To make them, I sprayed some Lindys stamp gang on a large piece of white fabric, I cut to size and then I dab through the Eighties stencil from Tando Creative the scrumptious Dyan Revealey paints (left in their packages for months in a drawer, shame on me!)

Per farli ho spruzzato dei colori su della stoffa bianca, li ho tagliati a forma di cuore ed ho aggiunto dei dettagli con uno stencil della Tando Creative, usando i nuovi colori acrilici della  Dyan Revealey (da mesi in un cassetto, vergogna)

I stamped the main steampunk images on tissue paper and I glued them with gel medium to the fabric, and stamped randomly around it.
Ho stampato l'immagine centrale su della carta velina ed incollata con il gel medium sulla stoffa.

I sew and stuffed the hearts.
Ho cucito ed imbottito i cuori.

I added the metallic charms.
Ho aggiunto dei gri-gri

But why quintessentially? Because, by chance, I used the gorgeous rubber stamp plate 'Grand Tour I' from Indigo Blu and a couple of weeks after I made these hearts I have been chosen to be part of the IndigoBlu Blog Challenge Design team! And I cannot wait any more to spill the news, even if my very first piece will be featured the 21st of July, and from then on every month! In the meanwhile I hope to have the chance to have a look at the beautiful entries from my team mates for this current challenge :-).
Ma perchè lo strano titolo del post? Perchè quando ho fatto questi cuori usando per caso dei timbri della IndigoBlu, non sapevo che qualche settimana dopo sarei entrata a far parte del DT del loro IndigoBlu Blog Challenge! Ci vediamo lì ogni 21 del mese! Nel frattempo potreste dare un'occhiata al tema di questo mese ed i bellissimi lavori delle ragazze del team. :-)
